finding beauty in the now

Sometimes it’s hard to find beauty within yourself or the things around you. Welcome to my journal entry where we can experience encouragement and inspiration together. Sometimes it’s okay to need help with lighting the flame again within you. We’re meant to burnout; we’re meant to refuel and reenergize. We’re only human, right? What was lost or empty is meant to be found and restored in the beautiful balance of life. There’s always a place to walk the path to find what you need: hope, peace, meditation, refocus, and realignment with your true purpose.

Thank you for joining me here to tap into our bodies, mind, heart, and souls. To tap into our imagination, curiosity, admiration, and self-compassion. To start, find a comfortable position as we focus on this moment for ourselves together. Once you’re nice and situated, we’re going to put attention on our breathing.

Step 1
DEEP BREATH IN REALLY FILLING UP AND EXPANDING YOUR LUNGS

Step 2
HOLD FOR A COUNT OF 4

Step 3
BIG EXHALE OUT

Do this four times or until you’re feeling more relaxed.

Next, think on how effortless it is to inhale and exhale and how the body knows that’s what you need. Then think about how your heart beats, your skin keeps itself new, and your eyes see light and color.

If you’re not barefoot, remove your shoes, and move the bottoms of your feet against your sandals or the floor and notice the sensation. It may feel good like scratching an itch or may slightly tickle. Notice how the ground is holding you and supporting you and how the weight of your body is held just the way you need it.

Next, speak out the word hope a few times. 1) Hope 2) Hope 3) Hope. And notice how your lips touch on the “p and e”. Say hope again trying not to touch your lips together. And you may notice it’s difficult to pronounce the “p and e”. Think about how you’re designed so intrinsically to be able to pronounce the words that give you language, power, and a voice.
Begin to say hope again a few more times. 1) Hope 2) Hope 3) Hope. And this time notice how you feel when you say that word. Do you feel good, bad, or sad? Try to acknowledge how you feel by imagining a bag with the word hope on it. And imagine yourself putting inside the bag what you would like hope surrounded around. Hang the bag on your heart and keep it close.

When it’s hard to find beauty within yourself or the things around you, I hope you remember how your body is beautiful for effortlessly giving you the breath you need, how your heart beats non-stop, how your skin keeps itself new, and how your eyes see so many colors thanks to the sunlight that warms the earth. Your body is beautiful that you can feel with touch and you can feel through words like hope and how you were intrinsically designed to be able to speak a language and have power and a voice. Your body is beautiful to have an imagination that can take you away from despair and lead you to the path of hope where you can choose to keep hope near to your most cherished and most vulnerable places.

I hope with you today that you feel more at peace with what you needed for yourself. What you needed to hear, feel, receive, and let go. May you be blessed and keep your hope near.

“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
-Jeremiah 29:11
